Aivis Svirskis is a professional translator with more than 10 years translating and interpreting experience. He started his career as an English teacher at the Grammar School of Nordic Languages, continued his teaching career at the Riga Technical College, where he taught technical English to engineering students. During this stage of his career he also managed the first two EU projects of the Leonardo da Vinci programme on education in Latvia for the Riga Technical College and Latvian Culture College.
Aivis Svirskis also taught business English to the employees of the Unibank (current SEB bank in Latvia), and was employed as an interpreter for the Court of Arbitration in Riga. Aivis Svirskis is a co-author of a study programme for cultural managers developed within the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci project "Cultural Management and New Information Technologies". He is also one of the translators of the book "Latvian Dissident" published in 2013 by Latvian author, philosopher and university professor Andris Vilks.
At present Aivis Svirskis is based in London. Translator Aivis Svirskis offers translation services to government organisations, Notaries Public, solicitors, law offices, universities and businesses in the UK and abroad.
