A certified translation is the translation of a document or certificate which is required for official use. The process of certification of a translation involves a declaration of accuracy by the translator which is attached to the stamped and signed translation and a copy of the original document.
There are several levels of certification. Please see Notarised Translations to read more about other types of certification offered by translator Aivis Svirskis.
Usually a basic certified translation is required for documents from a foreign language translated into English, or from English translated into a foreign language for submission to official organisations, such as the UK Border Agency (Home Office), universities, Passport Office and other organisations in the UK and abroad.
Please contact the intended recipient of your translation to see what level of certification is required.
